The Africa Policy Journal (APJ) is one of the most prominent scholarly journals dedicated to African policy. It was founded in 2006 through the initiative of Sam Unom, a Harvard Kennedy School Mason fellow. The APJ launched its inaugural edition in May 2006 and has since then published annually.
The Africa Policy Journal is run by Harvard Kennedy School graduate students, with the help of faculty members. The APJ is an official Harvard Kennedy School publication. As one of the world's leading institutions in public policy, HKS has trained numerous leaders and policy-makers, including Africa's first female president, Ellen Johnson-Sirleaf.
The Africa Policy Journal's mission is to promote a rigorous, informed and influential policy dialogue that is relevant to the development of Africa. In pursuit of this mission, the Journal has the following three objectives:
